The Phenomenon of Man

The Phenomenon of Man by Pierre Tielhard de Chardin was originally published in France in 1955. Introduction to English edition by Julian Huxley that was published in 1959. Teilhard de Chardin (1881 – 1955) was a French philosopher and Jesuit priest who trained as a paleontologist and geologist and took part in the discovery of Peking Man. In his masterpiece, "The Phenomenon of Man”, he postulates man as situated in an evolving universe, describing the evolutionary process of matter, life, thought and mind as originating from a oneness that has an evolutionary purpose.
